Happy to have Christine with us again, we set off to introduce her to Liam’s relatives who live near Niagara and say farewell to Liam’s mom Yoka who is returning to Ireland tomorrow. We were spoilt with wonderful barbequed steaks – the best steaks we have had since leaving SA. (Fast Food and budget food outlets do not really offer much in the way of steak!) It is amazing what you miss when you are away and with all this wonderful weather around, we have really missed being able to braai!
As soon as it was dark, around 9pm, we all drove down to the Niagara Falls which are light up at night with multi coloured lights and it is very beautiful. There was a local band playing and many families walking along the promenade above the falls, creating a very festive atmosphere. We saw a wonderful fireworks display over the falls which extracted many “Ooos” and “Aaahhhs” from the audience. Christine has sure started here holiday with a bang! (Excuse the pun).
