Being in oil country, it was time to learn more about the oil industry, we headed off to Leduc Discovery Centre situated at the first successful oil well in Alberta. We saw a great documentary made in 1946 when the oil came online and some fantastic models of oil rigs, land and sea based. We also watched a video about the oil sands mining and were in awe at the size of the machinery they use for this mining. All very interesting and our objective was achieved.
In the evening, we watched the full moon rising over the city. It was beautiful.
