It was time to explore this oasis in the middle of the flatlands, so we set off for a cycle along the shore of the Saskatchewan River. The trail was busy with other cyclists, joggers and walkers, but we got a feel for the layout of the city and cycled past some lovely buildings, municipal parks and the university grounds.
We took a river cruise in the afternoon, hoping to learn something about the city and it’s buildings and sights. Alas, the cruise came without a commentary, but it was nice and peaceful and a sedentary way to spend an afternoon in Saskatoon.
