Another time zone, another province – we drove from Wasagaming to Yorkton today, entering Saskatchewan. The forests of the East are gone and its miles of wide open spaces and farmlands. This area is the Canadian breadbasket and beyond it – the prairies. It’s nice to drive along the highway and be able to see something other than trees. The landscape is dotted with Ukranian churches and there are large settlements of Ukranian people in the province. Their architecture and influence is evident across the vast openess.
